Retirement Congratulations

Congratulations to Sergeant Norris Groves for your retirement from the Houston Police Department after 36 years of outstanding service!

Sergeant Groves has been an integral part of the Mental Health Division as a Crisis Intervention Response Team Supervisor since 2016.

The Houston Police Department (HPD) plays an indispensable role in maintaining law and order in our city, providing unparalleled levels of service to our community. Through dedicated support personnel like Sergeant Norris Groves, the department is able to successfully protect and serve the public, insure the integrity of the department and develop and protect its employees.

Through an outstanding work ethic, Sergeant Norris Groves has helped to improve the effectiveness of HPD. Over the years, he has developed great skills and expertise that have been vital assets to the department. As a committed employee, he has dutifully served HPD, our city and its residents willingly and well since July 9, 1984.

After more than 36 years of service, Sergeant Norris Groves has chosen to begin his well-earned retirement on July 24, 2020. In recognition and appreciation of his dedication and loyal service, the City of Houston congratulates and commends Sergeant Norris Groves on this milestone occasion and extends best wishes for a long and happy retirement.
